TRAVELLER MAGAZINE

Traveller is the UK’s oldest continuously published travel magazine. Since 1970 Traveller has reported on the real experience of travelling the world, and many of today’s leading explorers, adventurers and travel writers – including Sir Ranulph Fiennes, Michael Palin, John Simpson and Colin Thubron – are on the Editorial Board.

& Publishing is proud to edit Traveller for WEXAS, The Traveller’s Club. Members frequently cite the magazine as a key benefit of being part of this prestigious travel club.

Amy Sohanpaul and Duncan Mills, directors of & Publishing, have between them worked on Traveller for 15 years. It’s a very special magazine, pulling in all the great and the good in the world of travel writing and photography. Our colleagues in the media always, ALWAYS ask how we manage this on a relatively modest budget. We’re not telling… but we can put the secrets of our success and the talent of our team to equally good use for your publication or organisation.

Back issues of the magazine can be viewed by WEXAS members on the company’s website. However, the first issue of Traveller that we produced after founding & Publishing (the Winter 2009/10 issue) is available to view by clicking here

Autumn 2010
This issue celebrates Traveller’s 40th birthday and hosts a fine list of contributors to mark this special anniversary.Amy speaks to revered author Colin Thubron about life as a writer and the Royal Society of Literature, where he is president, and to Sir Christopher Ondaatje, who also contributes a vivid story of a leopard encounter. William Dalrymple reports from the ancient city of Herat, whilst across the border, John Simpson recounts a day in the life of a foreign correspondent in Peshawar, Pakistan. Both Sir Ranulph Fiennes and Colonel John Blashford-Snell remember past travels; Fiennes in Oman where he fought with the Army of the Sultan in the 60s and Blashford-Snell recalls his time in Panama’s Darien Gap: he led the first successful exploratory party through this heart of darkness in the early 1970s. Sir Robin Knox-Johnston talks sailing, Robin Hanbury-Tenison rides on horseback through Albania and Jonathan Scott visits Jaipur, whilst the late Wilfred Thesiger is remembered through his expert photography of the great continent of Africa. Which makes for another jam-packed issue, full of inspirational writing and stunning imagery – from members of our esteemed Honorary Editorial Board and other intrepid travellers, journalists and photographers.
